How to Get Your Hands on Iconic Gear From the White Stripes

Guitars, pedal boards and a drum kit that started a craze, all up for auction

August 19, 2020

The White Stripes are digging into their pure rocks pasts to auction off one-of-a-kind collector’s items made famous by the band.

Fans get the chance to bid on iconic items that helped build the band’s unique style and sound. Guitars, amplifiers, personal items and stage equipment are just a few pieces of interest. One item in particular has fans reaching for their credit cards. A mint-condition Ludwig Accent drum featured in the MTV Video Music Award nominated "Hardest Button to Button" music video.

Third Man Records, a Jack White-founded label, is behind the generous nostalgia dump that seemed motivated by recent social distancing guidelines due to spread of COVID-19. The group says they “took the opportunity presented by the necessity of social distancing to comb through the storage vaults and hidden closets at their headquarters,”

Another piece of music history up for grabs are unique collectible poster boards that hold labels from mixing sessions at Jack White’s Third Man Studio.

Other items of note on the auction block include stage monitor covers and pedal boards used on tour by The White Stripes, and select guitars from Jack's personal collection.

Bidding officially kicks off online August 26 at 10AM ET, at Nashville Auctions.

White has been busy collaborating during the pandemic lock-down. During an interview with Apple Music, Beck announced the duo have been sitting on “almost an album’s worth” of tracks. "I have a lot of stuff with Jack White," Beck said. "We we probably have almost an album's worth now just from the last two decades of hanging out."
