Check out 'Fire In Bone'

April 24, 2020

We’ve got some good news and some bad news. First, the bad news.

The Killers have delayed the release of their upcoming album Imploding The Mirage. The band was scheduled for a May 29th release, but was forced to push it back “due to delays in finalizing the album,” according to a statement. A new release date is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Now, the good news.

The Killers released a new song from the album that serves as the perfect feel good Friday soundtrack. The funky new track “Fire In Bone” is especially timely as the song’s lyrics deal with appreciating those that are there for you in times of despair and emptiness.

“Fire In Bone” is the second song the group has shared from Imploding The Mirage after releasing “Caution” back in March.

The Killers took an unusual approach on this record bringing a long list of collaborators. Guests on the album include Lindsey Buckingham, k.d. lang, Weyes Blood, Adam Granduciel of The War On Drugs, Blake Mills, and Lucius.

Imploding The Mirage is the light after the dark; the overcoming of sadness and moving into celebration,” the band said in a statement. “It’s a record about eternal love, perseverance through hard times, and the strength gained from friendships and familial bonds whilst weathering a storm.”

To celebrate the release of their new song “Fire In Bone,” The Killers will be hopping on an Instagram livestream at 3 PM ET on April 24 to take questions and chat with fans.
